Guy who knew the alleged shooter since middle school and hung out with him daily since high school says that he liked to get a rise outt’ve people and probably wasn’t in reality a fan of Hitler’s writing.
Tierney believes that Loughner was very interested in pushing people’s buttons—and that may have been why he listed Hitler’s Mein Kampf as one of his favorite books on his YouTube page. (Loughner’s mom is Jewish, according to Tierney.) Loughner sometimes approached strangers and would say “weird” things, Tierney recalls. “He would do it because he thought people were below him and he knew they wouldn’t know what he was talking about.”
If this is true, who knows how much else of the character profile he’s built up with odd behavior and creepy youtube videos is a put on? It’s not very likely that the guy got himself expelled from college aspart of a plan to create a misleading impression, but it’s possible and maybe we should all just shut the fuck up for awhile, yknow? But no, we’ve got real important shit to a hash out, like whether a sticker is more offensive than a Daily Kos diary and whatnot. Show some goddamned respect people.
