Simple Question

An aide to Sarah Palin claims the crosshairs depicted in her now-infamous target list of Democrats were not actually gun-sights, and that it’s “obscene” and “appalling” to blame Palin for the shooting.

“We never ever, ever intended it to be gun sights. It was simply cross-hairs like you’d see on maps,” said Rebecca Mansour on the Tammy Bruce radio show. Moreover, there was “nothing irresponsible” about the image, and to draw a line connecting Palin and Saturday’s shooting is “obscene” and “appalling.”

Now clearly those images were intended to be gunsights, and were promoted as such at the time. I’m not buying this bullshit for a second, and honestly if there’s a single human being out there who accepts this explanation on an intellectual rather than emotional/partisan basis I’d be interested to talk to them about it.

I do have a question though: is this thing about crosshairs on maps equally bullshit? I’ve never heard of such a thing, and I’m just trying to get a handle on how full of shit Palin’s operation is in this situation. Sorta? Mostly? Utterly? Completely? Help me out here.
