Omigod omigod everything the president does is similar to Stalinist Russia!
If you see anybody publicly opposing President Obama’s plan to implement a government-centric overhaul of the health care system, the White House wants you to report that person (or persons) ASAP.
From the White House website:
There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Emphasis added. Of course, as we’ve seen in the health care debate to date, the term “disinformation” is used by the Obama White House as a catchall to describe any opposition to the President’s push for single-payer, government-run health care — meaning the White House wants to be informed of any forwarded emails or blog posts or any “casual conversations” that could be taken as opposition to their health care overhaul plan.
Ok, am I honestly expected to take this at face value? He wants me to accept the premise that he really believes the shit he’s writing here? Give me a break. Nevermind that “casual conversations” are only mentioned as a way that rumors are spread, and that “fishy” emails and websites are demonstrably (yknow, like when you use your eyes to read it?) the only thing the White House is asking people to send along. As for the “disinformation = opposition” claim? Oh come on, it’s not like every Republican congressmember is going around scaring the shit outt’ve old folks by telling them the government’s going to shove them into a meat grinder to save a buck. Quit being such a pussy about it, Obama.
In all seriousness, I think it’s pretty obvious that Obama’s people are trying to gather up all the chain emails and etc. so they can setup another one of their debunking websites ie. Fight the Smears. I don’t believe for a second that Emanuel thinks any differently but I guess he’s willing to sell his soul for partisan causes – either that or there’s more money in being a RedState blogger than I realized. It doesn’t take more than a couple seconds’ effort to demonstrate that he’s just another grunt in the GOP Parrot-Army, and as usual here’s the guy giving the marching orders. (Spend a little bit of time with that first link btw – it’s fun seeing the places people will dump off their Rush-inspired copypasta. My favorite is a forum for Asheron’s Call, which is an online role-playing game that came out a decade ago.) It’s good to see that the puke funnel is alive and well. Rush spins it up, the underlings grab hold and we’re off to the races.
A wise man once said some stuff about this:
…er damn, I can’t get it to embed right. Just click the part that says “Master Rebators” and it’ll play.
