In electronics Moore’s Law says that the number of transistors that can be placed on a circuit every two years will double.  I think it’s about time to come up with a similar measure of the rate of increase in contrived nuttiness, paranoia and feelings of victimization among homo sapiens wingnutticus when out of political power because it seems to be doubling almost daily and I fear we will be overrun.

-The aforementioned Glenn Beck fauxsanity / pledge drive

-John Ziegler’s brave stand against Big Private Property, Van Sustererrerernarterson urging him to sue (those cuffmarks must’ve taken hours to fade) and the resulting movement to Excoriate Couric In 140 Characters Or Less

-My own mother and stepfather (Lockheed-Martin / US Forest Service employees) and their brief journey from “I hope you’re right that Obama won’t cut defense spending” to “Down with big government spending” chants and “Redistribute the Wealth = Theft” signs at the local Teabagging Party the other day.

-The massive rush to freak way the fuck out because the DHS is focusing exclusively on cop-killing white supremacists and trust-fund Neo-Nazis trying to build dirty bombs everyday American conservatives like you and me — and at Obama’s urging, no less.

-Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-Moon) contracting out his thought process to what appears to be a Joe McCarthy highlight reel

-probably some other fresh new craziness that I’ve missed in the 10 minutes I’ve spent typing this
